How To Dry A Car With A Battery Operated Leaf Blower

Can you believe it! A battery operated leaf blower can do this!

Is it time for the chamois to be binned?  I think so!

We all know how annoying cleaning a car can but drying it also, Grrrrrr.

If your lazy (sorry) then this will be right up your street!

You just need to get the kids to wash the car first and you can do the fun bit!

Will This Work On All Cars?

Most definitely, every single model out there also:
  • Motorbikes
  • Motor-homes
  • Caravans
  • Quads
  • Anything on wheels

What Preparation Do I Have To Do?

We recommend for this to work the best, you should wash your car thoroughly first.

Try and use a Car shampoo with wax mixed in, this will beat half the job, just go for something cheap like Turtle Wax Shampoo.

This will ensure the water will bead off the bodywork when it comes to using your battery operated leaf blower.

You see, your cars paint work can pick up a lot of pollutants, especially from rainwater and the wax in the shampoo will remove some,  helping the water to slide off.

The shampoo and wax will give us a head start. So get cracking!

Car Is Washed, Now What?

The fun bit!

Go grab your leaf blower and switch it on.

Starting from the roof, start to blow the water off, working your way down the window screen, the bonnet and then the bumper.

Then go back and do the boot and rear bumper, followed by the sides.

You may have to tap some of the trim and lights to push out excess water. So make sure you wear clean gloves.

Also, you will notice that the water will bead off your car, well in a fashion. The Turtle Wax shampoo would of removed some of the pollutants which in turn helped your battery operated leaf blower blow off the water easier.

Fantastic! Anything Else?

Yes, you now need to apply a wax to your car. It can be a chore but I would opt for a detailing spray wax

Not all of us want to spend hours on our cars but we do want them to look good, and that's why I opt for Meguair's ultimate quik wax spray. Spray it , wipe it, done no residue.

Grab a microfibre cloth and get waxing!

Why All This Effort?

So there isn't much effort next time it comes to washing your car.

The dirt will be easier to wash off and the water won't have chance to cling on once your leaf blower is on!

Best of all, your car will be gleaming!

Your happy, neighbours are envious and you found another reason to get your battery operated leaf blower out!

Few More Tips Before You Go

Tip 1. When waving your leaf blower around the sills make sure not to lift any dirt up and chuck it back all over your car. I would personally, while rinsing the car down make sure the area the car is sitting on is wet, totally keeping dust to a minimum.

Tip 2. Make sure you keep an eye on what your.doing. Don't catch the paint work with the nozzle. If you do, expect a mark or a scratch, whoever is shouting can wait until you back away from the car.

Tip 3. Make sure you spray wax after every wash, this will ensure the water will bead off nicely and also protect your car.

Tip 4. Invest in a battery operated leaf blower even if you already have a petrol one. There have been reports of petrol leaf blowers transferring a little oil to your paintwork.

Tip 5. If your not familiar with hand washing a car, this is how you do it: (maybe some of us experienced car washes will pick up a few pointers) Enjoy:
